Over the last weekend, our area was hit pretty hard (for a southern city) with snow and ice, which still has us scrambling and getting back to normal.
The weather service had been predicting anywhere from 6-10" of snow for the area. They missed it, but we still finished up with 3-4" of snow and another 1" of ice. Seems our biggest issue around here was ice. Roads closed, schools closed, businesses shut down, and our city turned to mostly a ghost town.
This was shot from the downtown area showing some of what we got in the way of sleet, snow, and ice.
As a matter of fact, it's been 2 days since the storm and our county & city schools are still closed due to the road conditions and safety concerns.
