More snow
So we got another dusting of 2-3" of snow last night. Of course being here in the south, everything is closed until ten this morning (We're supposed to break freezing temps by then.)
I cannot recall when the last time was that we got snow twice in one winter. Maybe it's time we move to Florida? :)
But that doesn't mean I couldn't get up and knock out an easy 3mile run before work. The hay is in the barn and now we just sit back and enjoy the taper before Sunday's race...

Team Red White & Blue
I mentioned late last year about the possibitly of joining a racing team for 2011. Turns out, there's been some development on that front and it's definitely going to make for a great 2011 racing season.
Last year, I sent in an application with my race schedule, some of my goals, and why I think I could race for their team. And as it turns out, they must have liked what they saw because just last week, they delivered a race package to my doorstep. And in that package were some pretty cool goodies.

First we started out with a very nice looking magnet. It's already on my vehicle, so keep your eyes peeled.
Secondly, I found a hat.
Lastly, came a shirt. The front has their logo (red & blue eagle) while the back has their logo plus their slogan.
And all together:
I would say that turned out to be quite the pretty cool race setup! I'm definitely impressed. And as it turns out, yes, I'll be racing for Team Red White & Blue in 2011!
As part of the campaign for Team RWB, the mission is to tranform the way wounded veterans are reintegrated into society when they have returned from combat and exit their military life. This is through support of us athletes, themselves, and Team RWB.
I encourage you to check out Team RWB, read up on their mission and goals and if you feel it, add a donation to help the cause. I'll be raising money for Team RWB throughout the year, and if you feel it's something you can support, your help would be greatly appreciated.
And feel free to ask questions, share my page, and if you'd like talk to me about joining up for Team Red White & Blue!

flu
We're around. I promise.
I was struck down with the flu all last week and am just now returning to my feet. Being out with a fever over 102* just makes for a very unproductive week and the feeling of doing nothing.
Don't worry, we'll be getting some photos up soon enough, and who knows, maybe a video too...

a little snow storm
Over the last weekend, our area was hit pretty hard (for a southern city) with snow and ice, which still has us scrambling and getting back to normal.
The weather service had been predicting anywhere from 6-10" of snow for the area. They missed it, but we still finished up with 3-4" of snow and another 1" of ice. Seems our biggest issue around here was ice. Roads closed, schools closed, businesses shut down, and our city turned to mostly a ghost town.
This was shot from the downtown area showing some of what we got in the way of sleet, snow, and ice.
As a matter of fact, it's been 2 days since the storm and our county & city schools are still closed due to the road conditions and safety concerns.

She's so fast...
...she rides out front and it's all I can do to keep up!
Bethany took these this morning while I was out in the garage getting my bike workout in. They figured they'd come join me and check things out.
And yes, that's sweat pouring off of my face. Which is also the main reason I've been banished to the garage instead of the living room with the rest of civilization.
It won't be long before she has her own little bike next to mine...

Rice Cereal must be good...
Her first try..
It must be quite good because fussing ensues when she's not chomping on the spoon. Hopefully it's a good start to solids.
