MCM Week 5
Week 5 of the Marine Corps Marathon is in the books and I'm still going strong.
Tuesday - Speed - 5mi @ 47:36
Saturday - Tempo - 6.3mi @ 56:57
Sunday - Long Run - 12mi @1:57:13
And the additional run for this week:
Friday - 4mi @ 36:16
The weekly totals: 27.30mi @ 4:18:02
For the long run, I took a different route and turns out, it was much better. There's a multi use trail here called the MKT trail. It runs almost 200miles across the state and is heavily used by both runners and cyclists. I chose to use it for Sunday and just did a simple 6mi out and back. Definitely a fun little run.
Have you considered checking out the fundraiser yet?

MCM week 3 & 4 Training
Here's the quick updates on the Marine Corp Marathon training, for those interested.
Week 3:
Tuesday - Speed - 5.55mi @ 53:35
Thursday - Tempo - 6.7mi @ 1:00:48
Saturday - Long - 10.14mi @ 1:47:11
And just like the last couple of weeks, I had some additional miles that weren't on the prescribed plan.
Monday - 4mi @ 34:31 & again Tuesday night - 3mi @ 28:10
A note for week 3. I got word late in the week that I would be moving with work to Missouri, so my running partner and I figured we'd finish on a doozy, and that we did. We picked the local race route called Statue to Statue and tried our hand at it. I can say with certainty, that it is definitely the "Toughest 15k in the South"!
Week 3 mileage: 29.39mi @ 4:44:15
Week 4:
Tuesday - Speed - 7mi @ 1:10:12
Thursday - Tempo - 4mi @ 38:48
Sunday - Long - 11.47 @ 2:18:02 (Trail Running)
And the additional runs:
Wednesday - 4mi @ 35:00
Sadly, I blew up on Thursday. What was supposed to be 6mi, turned out to be 4. I just didn't have it and just couldn't get my legs to get going. Also, what made week 4 interesting was that I was in a hotel for all of it. Like mentioned from week 3, I am doing some work out of state and have been visiting the treadmill downstairs. Believe me, it's not glamourous at all. The good thing to look forward to is the Sunday run out at the local state park!
Week 4 mileage: 26.47mi @ 4:42:06
We're now 1/4 of the way through and steadily going. My 1/4 way mileage is: (104.53mi). Based on that info, you should go check out the CONTESTS I HAVE GOING ON and consider MAKING A DONATION.

MCM Fundraising Contest
I'm 12 weeks from the Marine Corp Marathon. It's time to start pushing for some fundraising. In doing so, I'm hosting a little contest and yes, there will be some goodies for the winner.
I'm posting all of my runs here on the blog. I'm posting all of my times from those runs too. So, what I'm going to do is let you make bets and wagers on 1 of 2 things: my total accumulated miles from day 1 until the marathon (not including the 26.2mi of the race), OR my finishing time.
The low down:
Contest #1 - Miles
For every $5 donation to my Team RWB Funraising webpage, you can make a wager at how many miles I will have run between the week of July 11 through Oct 29. I'll be posting my total running calendar at the end of each month as a guage for you to make your guess. When you make your donation, simply state the total miles you think in the comment box!
Contest #2 - Time
For every $5 donation to my Team RWB Fundraising webpage, you can make a wager for my finishing time for completing the 26.2mi race. Again, you'll see all of my runs and their times to help you make a pretty reasonable guess on my time too. When you make your donation, simply state the finishing time you think I'll get in the comment box!
The incentive:
For one, you'll feel good knowing that your donation will go toward the Team Red White & Blue and being used for a great cause.
For two, you'll get your choice of one of the following:
